The Kidde i12040 is an AC/DC powered, ionization smoke alarm that operates on a 120V power source with 9V battery backup. This alarm uses ionization sensing technology. Ionization sensing alarms may detect invisible fire particles (associated with flaming fires) sooner that photoelectric alarms. Photoelectric sensing alarms may detect visible particles (associated with smoldering fires) sooner than ionization alarms.

Model i12040 Replaces all existing 1275 smoke alarm models

Current replacement units are shipped as i12040 which are a direct change-out replacement for the Kidde 1275, yes they fit the Quick-Connect power harness for a speedy installation.

The Kidde i12040 formerly the 1275 EH is a 120VAC Direct Wire-in powered ionization smoke alarm with 9V battery back up. It has the ability to function as a single unit or in an interconnected system. The battery back up provides continuous protection against smoke and fire hazards even during power outages.
